The Commons Café

The Commons Café

Domini and Peaches Kemp

The Commons Café is open from 10.30am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The Commons Café offers a menu of artisan toasties, all-day breakfasts, fresh soups, beautiful salads and homemade cakes & treats; All accompanied by speciality coffee, iced coffees, plus wine from WineLab. Reservations are on a walk-in basis.

Set in the original student dining halls of UCD Newman House, the Commons has long been a space for sharing food and ideas amongst friends. In its newest form, led by sisters Domini and Peaches Kemp, the Commons continues this wonderful legacy, showcasing Ireland’s beautiful produce and culinary heritage.

Beautifully restored, there are nods to Ireland’s literary history throughout. The commissioned artwork by photographer Trevor Hart and stylist Eleanor Harpur, was curated by Nicky Hooper, and reflects some of literature’s most famous culinary quotes. The café opens out onto our Courtyard Garden.

You can also avail of the Commons and a number of stunning rooms within the museum as a private venue space. If you would like further information please reach out to us and we will be delighted to put in in touch with our events team.
